This Memorial Day we are living in a construction zone because they have started the work on our house. The floors have all been pulled up exposing the concrete floor and the furniture is in disarray piled elsewhere. It has been pretty interesting having to choose the new flooring for the house. I made the mistake of taking the husband to Home Depot on Saturday and showing him my choice. He wasn't crazy about it and chose what he liked - I hated it. So we spent the next 2 hours at Home Depot finding one we both liked. Although he told me to just get what I wanted, I wanted him to feel like he had a choice in the matter. We made a great compromise, but in the end I think he just wanted to get the heck out of there.
As it turns out I think I wanted to get the heck out of there too because as soon as I got on the freeway I unsafely crossed over all freeway lanes to the fast lane and punched it. You know what's coming right... yep... A very polite CHP officer promptly pulled me over for unsafe lane change and speeding which would have resulted in over $700 and possibly the inability to attend traffic school because it's 2 violations within 18 months. He let me off with a warning.
Today, we will be taking an exciting trip to the supermarket, as my husband calls it. What do you call it? I call it the grocery store, but he calls it the supermarket. I usually make this trip during the week, and was planning on going tomorrow, while my husband was at work and the boys are at school. However, my husband loves the "supermarket" and wanted me not to wait until Tuesday and go today so he could go too because that's just how he rolls. He's cute like that.
So, we have some steaks marinating in the refrigerator and we'll pick up some potatoes to bake. Yum! Maybe I'll try my hand at grilling up some brussel sprouts - we'll see.
God is good and I'm grateful! Have a great Memorial Day!
