Thought I would give PrompTuesday a whirl this week because I love San Diego Momma. The following snippet is inspired by a new blogger buddy. Say a little prayer for Rachel and Cam, k?

“You’re not going to win you know.” She couldn’t look at him when she said it.
“Maybe not. But I take heart in knowing that neither one of us will be the same when it’s all over.” He pushed the papers across the table.
She kept her eyes away from him, but had to admit he was probably right. This was massive. This would change their lives forever. They tried on their own, but it wasn’t working. They looked into many options, but still couldn’t come to something they felt good about until they met her. Her soft eyes and rosy cheeks that connected when she smiled couldn’t be denied, it was magical. Her light brown wispy locks with glistening streaks of the sun tickled the tips of her shoulders as she bounced around on the playground. As they watched her they were both thinking the same thing, “How could something so beautiful be here, in this place? Who could let go of such an angel of a child and leave them for adoption?” Whatever the answers were, it didn’t matter anymore because they knew this angel would be coming home with them, now that the papers were finalized.
Their eyes met and with a smile he said, “Okay, you win. We'll call her Ella. Now let's take her home.”
That was AWESOME! Seriously.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for making PROMPTuesday feel less lonely. :)
I am shocked, and awed, and so thankful. That was absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
